How to Introduce Your Business  on Twitter

Here's a question from one of my gigs on Fiverr that is common to most businesses trying to get a presence on the internet.

"My question is that I am in the process of relaunching my business. I've been out the loop for a little while due to an injury. My question is what is the best way to reintroduce myself on Twitter, continue to get followers, and direct them to my website.  Also, thank you so much for all you've done. I am grateful."

That is a wonderful question, and I also appreciate the kind words.  I don't know the nature of your business, but the answer is the same no matter what you're selling on the internet.

Be social and interact with people. This is what social media is all about. Building casual relationships. People buy from people they have some type of relationship with, most relationships are casual, but nonetheless they are not strangers.

When was the last time you bought something from somebody who tweeted, "buy my product on sale today"?  Social media doesn't work that way, even though most people think it does.

There is also a side benefit to interacting with people on Twitter:  There are other people reading your conversations, forming an opinion about you, one way or another. And these folks also bond with you from your conversations with others.  So with one conversation you could be talking to 10, 15, 100 people.

I'm not telling you something that I think. No sir, I'm telling you something that I know! You can take this one bit of advice to the bank and prosper: Interact, Interact, Interact.

Here a few other things that are also important.

•     Retweet--There are so many benefits to retweeting that you can't see from the surface.

The fastest way to build a relationship is to retweet something that 's meaningful and make a comment on the RT. Usually, you'll get a response if not, then keep retweeting if it's someone you want to know.  Over time you'll build a casual relationship even though you never had a conversation.

Retweeting also gives you an endless stream of information. Find things with graphic pictures that inform, entertain and add value to people lives. You then become a go-to source for relevant information by retweeting for others.  When you retweet,  add RT before the @handle, now the light shines on both of you.

Here's an example of a headline message from your profile that I retweeted:

RT @Twittername  "Remember, your thoughts create your reality. What you think about, you will bring about. Think positive things."  You're 100% right!

When retweeting is done right you'll gain the favor of others and gain more followers. Retweeting is an unselfish act, and people love to have retweeters on their team.  Take for example this tweet from Alexander Paw-author @osideo who tweeted this headline.

WANNA KNOW A SECRET? THESE AUTHORS R GREAT @zuncks . @bobbyblaze744 @MisterSalesman .@JanetCBrennan .@osideo

Do you think the authors took noticed?  Retweeting has the same effect. Learn how to promote others and by doing so gain more followers and the attention of others.

•     Headlines–Learn how to write captivating and curious headlines that make readers want to  RT, or click on the link. Watch how other successful people write Tweet headlines and follow their lead. Practice, Practice, Practice and one day you will be an expert. Writing effective headlines is 99% how you drive traffic to your website.

•     Website–You need to have a place where readers  go and read more about the headline you tweeted.  Once a person is on your website then they are in your funnel looking for information and to be entertained.  Usually, if someone reads five of your articles, they have confidence that you know what you're are talking about,  and will  buy something you're selling if it interests them.

•   Blogs-- Write at least 5  posts that draw 500 views each per month, and then you're off to the races.  You don't have to write blogs every day or every week. You can publish a post once a month.  People want relevant information, and they want it fast. So keep your blogs short 200-300 words but provide powerful information that add value.  Fiverr is an excellent source to find people to write articles on any topic if you don't have the time or just want to supplement your writings.

•     Build an enormous Twitter Platform of 100,000 followers.  The book HTG100K has helped many, and it will help you. Don't stop until you reach 100K. Something MAGICAL happens at 100,000. Don't ask me why, It just happens. Build it and they will come.

It's not vulgar or distasteful to market your book, but it's naive to think it will sell itself.

•     Tweet-- If you expect your company to get noticed because you have an address on the web or that your product will sell itself, then you have another thing coming.  Both will just sit there and rot a way.  It is vital that you advertise your products and services. There is no such thing as tweeting too much as long as it's not intrusive to your followers.  You may also find a good tweet service to test your ideas on Twitter before taking on expensive advertising.

I offer through Fiverr an inexpensive tweeting service where I will blast your headline about your business or product to my 142,000 followers 4x a week 30 days. It's an excellent way to find what works. Fiverr

Good luck in building your business.  Don't stop until your mission is accomplished; rest if you must, but don't quit if it's something you want.  You must want it as bad as the air you breath.

I hope my answer spurs you onward. I'm looking forward to helping you grow your business and building a Twitter platform.
